As you know, LinkedIn is the most important professional networking website globally. In the last few years, LinkedIn has made several efforts to make it more like a social media networking space, in addition to the professional networking aspect. After achieving their goal to a certain extent, they are now looking at ways to monetize this growth with ad revenue. They have added a new feature to their ad space that will help advertisers view ads of the last 6 months through their profiles.

The ‘Ads’ tab will help advertisers check out sponsored content of the last 6 months in order to gain insights about ad campaigns run globally. For the clicks that you make on the ‘Ads’ tab to check out the ads, advertisers will not be charged. Similarly, these clicks will not make an appearance on the ad campaign report. This feature is clearly aimed at bringing about a degree of transparency and safety.

Digital marketers who use LinkedIn for their brands can draw some benefit from this move. For example, you can learn why some ads worked and some didn’t. Of course, you will not be able to check out how the ads were targeted. You will also not know how much a company had to spend to buy those ads! You will only get to view the ads as they appeared on LinkedIn. If you are an optimist, you will find positives in this, I’m sure!

This is not the end though. LinkedIn has assured advertisers that many more features will be added in due course so that advertisers find this networking site more transparent. These features will also help them study the pattern of success with ads on LinkedIn. As of now, the ‘Ads’ tab is yet to roll out completely and will do so in the next couple of weeks for users across the globe.

    Here in the company we are starting with linkedin ads and we are having a good start back with this new source of traffic

      That’s great to hear that LinkedIn ads are working well for you. But still somehow I feel LinkedIn ads are costlier than Google or Facebook, though the lead quality is pretty good.
