Joydeep Bhattacharya – Head of Digital Marketing, TIS India Business Consultants, Noida and Pro Blogger at SEOsandwitch.com.
Q1. Hope you are enjoying life as a Digital Marketing Professional. How does it feel ?
It feels great! I have been into this digital marketing profession since 2009 and it has been challenging yet productive. This industry witnesses so many changes due to the regular algorithm tweaks that Google does so very often. I have to remain updated to every important change as it directly affects our productivity and ultimately our relationship with the client.
Overall, it has been a very satisfying experience and I am glad that I am a part of this billion-dollar digital marketing industry.
Q2. Share what all Digital Marketing activities you are doing currently as a Digital Marketer?
I have been doing Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Optimization, Search Engine Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Email Marketing, Blogging (I own a personal blog, it’s SEOsandwitch.com), Content Writing, Analytics Consulting, Business Consulting, Conversion Rate Optimization etc. Every day I face a new challenge and I try to learn something new. After all, proper knowledge is what keeps you ahead of your competitors.
Q3. Truly you are a role model for our new students! Any suggestion for them regarding how to approach companies with your acquired knowledge? Or, for that matter how to start something of their own?
Many thanks for that. According to me, digital marketing is a sum of 4 skills – knowledge, creativity, patience and communication. If you have these 4 skills then you can become a good digital marketer. Work experience is necessary and practical exposure provides you with some vital insights that theoretical knowledge does not.
Q4. What all responsibilities are you handling now?
I am currently working as the head of digital marketing in an IT company and I also provide business consulting to several new startups. SEO, PPC, Email Marketing, Analytics, Competitor Analysis, Email and Skype communication or face to face meeting with the clients, planning and implementation of complete digital marketing strategies are a part of my daily job.
Q5. How big your current initiative is? Inspire our students with your golden words.
Digital Marketing ultimately lands you into consulting. You can help other startup’s grow, you can make others learn, you can start your own in-house business, you can earn money via adsense, you can generate leads etc. The opportunities are nearly endless with Digital Marketing.
Q6. Great! We are glad to have initiated you on this path. Why have you not chosen any other field, by the way?
Frankly speaking, I wanted to become a designer but eventually I became more keen towards learning SEO as was fascinated towards how Google works and what algorithms does it employs in order to fetch results. That fascination led me into digital marketing.
Q7. We expect you will give some rating of our Digital Marketing Training. What’s that?
I will rate it excellent. You guys are doing a great job in order to promote digital marketing and to train the future generation of internet marketing professionals.
Q8. Thank you so much! It feels really great to have you. Before you sign off, any note for your followers/juniors?
Thanks for having me. Wish you and your team success for your future. I always believe in the motto “SEMPER SURSUM” which means, “As you sow, so shall you reap”. So, guys, work hard, acquire knowledge, respect others and follow the lesson Aamir Khan gave in 3 idiots movie 😉 Don’t run behind the success, achieve excellence first, the success will automatically come looking for you.
Thank you Joydeep for spending your valuable time with us and sharing such inspiring insights.
